The Myriad Turbine Concept
The Scottish Enterprise funded FRame Assembly and Maintenance Enhancement (FRAME) project followed the Fast Start project, fully defining the design load cases from industry design standards, IEC 61400 for a 1MW 4 rotor Myriad Turbine. This project focuses on the development of Myriads modular frame support structure, which is crucial to maximise the benefits of the Myriad Turbine. As well as this, numerous maintenance solutions are evaluated and developed to ensure that our turbines can be maintained in an efficient manner. This project progressed the Myriad Turbine to TRL3 and highlighted next steps in the development path.
